Culture Tips

CROP TIME

From planting to harvest: 15 – 19  weeks

From prunning: 15 – 18  weeks

PLANTING DENSITY

45,000 – 98,000  Plants/ha.  (Kenya)

76000 - 200000  Plantas/ha. (EC)

PRE-PLANTING

Soil: A loose and well-drained soil with a leveled surface is required.

PINCH

If the crop is intended for a single cycle, perform pruning to 5-6 leaf pairs. If it is for more than a cycle, prune to 3 leaf pairs. Apply 150 ppm of Gibberellic Acid 4 days after pruning. Make a second application of 150 ppm one week later. In the following weeks, make applications of 150 ppm only to the plants that require it.

LIGHTNING

No lightining is required.  In case needed, it is recommended to provide a maximum of 5 to 6 weeks of light.

HARVEST

Harvest when 20% of the flowers are open and place them in a ripening chamber for 5 to 7 days. Before cutting, disinfect the scissors with a solution (Timsen 2 g/L).

POST -HARVEST

Harvest Solution: Hydrate in Chrysal AVB (1cc/lt). Keep at room temperature in a room for 2 hours.

Opening Solution: Once the flower has been hydrated with AVB for a minimum of 2 hours, dissolve sugar (50 g/liter), add Everflor Chloro (0.15 cc/liter), and then Everflor Universal (0.3 cc/liter). Add 1 gram of citric acid to this mixture. Mix until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
