Culture Tips

CROP TIME

From planting to harvest: 14 weeks

After the first flush it produces again 8 to 10 weeks later for 8-9 weeks.


PLANTING DENSITY

6 plants/ m2 net


PRE-PLANTING

Soil:  Well drained 

Netting: 2 levels

pH: 5.5 – 6.2


TEMPERATURE

Ideal for gorwth: 15-18 ⁰C


PINCH

If the plant is not well developed with a 25 to 30 cm diameter, pinch the stems produced by the plant (pinch at ground level).

Once reached the desired size, apply 50 ppm of gibberellic acid. Then stop the pinching and let them grow.  Once the production cycle finishes, wait until the plant has had enough size to reapply gibberellic acid.


IRRIGATION

Avoid excess of humidity. The achillea is tolerant to dry conditions.


FERTILIZATION

Doesn´t require high fertilization.  A general fertiilization formula can be the following::

N: 80 ppm , P: 50 ppm, K: 100 ppm

Ca: 100 ppm, Mg: 40 ppm, S: 50 ppm

Fe: 2 ppm, Mn: 2.5 ppm, Cu,: 0.2 ppm

Zn: 0.2 ppm, B: 0.2 ppm.


HARVEST

Harvest with flowers fully opened where pollen is seen. Cut the stems at ground level without leaving stumps.


POST-HARVEST

Hydrate in Chrysal L&A: 10 gr /lt  for 6 hours.
