Culture Tips

CROP TIME

From planting to harvest 12 weeks

STEM HEIGHT

45 cm

PLANTING DENSITY

22-44 plants/m2 net (2-4 plants7 ft2.)

PRE-PLANTING

Soil: A loose soil is required well drained with a level surface. At least 25 cm deep.

pH: 6.0 to 7.0

IRRIGATION

Proper growth of anemones requires frequent watering. Do not allow the soil to dry when the plants are small.

Water daily.  Once the plants are established, the frequency of irrigation can be decreased to 2 or 3 times per week.

FERTILIZATION

During the first weeks before the floral induction maintain the N: K = 2: 1 ratio.

As the production of flowers begins, decrease the contribution of N in the form of Nitrate and increase the amount of potassium to obtain stronger stems.

C.E: 1.4

TEMPERATURE

The average temperature after planting should be between 15 ° C and 18 ° C (60 ° F to 65 ° F) during the day and 13 ° C (55 ° F) at night.

HARVEST

Harvest one day after the flower has opened. Harvest in the morning, when the flower and plant tissue are still cold. To optimize post-harvest life, remove heat generated in the field by moving harvested branches to a cold room.

POSTHARVEST TREATMENT

Always use clean buckets with cold and fresh water. Do not dispatch flowers that come from the field without cooling them. To increase vase life, hydrate with 3% sucrose solution for 24 hours after harvest.
